The model 5901 erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) allows transmission rates of 50 GB/s using multiples of the Force model 3783/3784 3.1-Gbit/s optical terminal. It can be converted from a tabletop unit to a 2RU 19-in. rack-mountable EDFA for use in a standard EIA 19-in. rack.
