Innocor intros OTU1 test capabilities
December 8, 2005 Ottawa, Ontario -- Innocor has added OTU1 test capabilities to its TestPoint platform of broadband test equipment. The OTU1 test capabilities are available as a factory upgrade to the company's multi-rate module. The new line rate test capability is available in the platform's portable TS-10 configuration as well as the scalable TS-30 and TS-170 configurations.
The company says the addition of OTU1 test capability addresses the needs of transport applications that require FEC and OTN digital wrapper testing at the 2.666-Gbit/sec line rate. The introduction of the capability expands the company's OTN TestPoint offering, which already includes 10.709, 11.049, and 11.095-Gbit/sec line rates.
"By adding the OTU1 capabilities to our multi-rate module we now support four FEC line rates. This further demonstrates our commitment to providing multiple line rates and interface types on an integrated hardware platform," comments Randy Gill, president of Innocor. "Companies that are testing transport applications prefer these types of integrations in test products because of the flexibility they offer."
The company says its TestPoint family, including the TS-10, TS-30, and TS-170, offers a flexible telecom and datacom platform for manufacturers and R&D environments. The modular platform is designed to provide versatility in configuring interface types, transmission rates, protocols, and port density.
