Australia-based test instrument company Kingfisher International has unveiled the KI2600 range of optical power meters for fiber-optic test and installation applications. The field-portable KI2600 can be used to verify optical power and loss in installed communications links using “most fiber types,” Kingfisher says.

General features of the KI2600 include:

  • protected interchangeable optical connectors
  • long battery life
  • intuitive operation
  • a large sunlight readable and backlit display
  • simultaneous display of loss at multiple wavelengths
  • data file dump onto a USB memory stick
  • PC reporting software.

Kingfisher also cites such optical features as “very good” accuracy, 24 genuine CWDM calibration wavelengths, extended high power range, and an optional VFL fault locator. The unit also provides industry leading linearity and absolute calibration accuracy, Kingfisher asserts.

The unit also may be used in laboratory environments.
