JANUARY 20, 2011 -- JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) (TSX: JDU) says that a major European communications service provider has selected JDSU's test equipment for the deployment of 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) and LTE networks. The carrier will use JDSU's instruments to derive analysis and network performance metrics to find and fix service-affecting issues before they reach the consumer, help ensure that services using 4G and 100GbE technologies are delivered reliably, and that the subscriber experience is of high quality.
The service provider, whose name JDSU would not reveal, chose the JDSU ONT-506 Optical Transport Network (OTN) and 100GbE tester for its ability to evaluate new transmission technologies and key performance data prior to deployment, JDSU asserted. The customer is also adding LTE technology support to its current JDSU 2G/3G platform, including Signaling Analyzer Real Time (SART), Distributed Network Analyzer (DNA) probes, and the new 10GbE Ethernet blades, to help analyze, detect, and correct performance and service-affecting issues for its LTE network.
