April 19, 2006 Calabasas, CA -- Ixia, a provider of IP performance test systems, has introduced its Aptixia series of test applications, in conjunction with "a statement of direction for ongoing enhancements."
The series of test applications consists of the IxNetwork application for L2-3 testing, the IxLoad application for L4-7 testing, and the IxScriptMate application for pre-built L2-7 tests. Ixia says the series shares a common test application framework, and operates in conjunction with the company's Optixia hardware platform.
The company says the Aptixia series represents an evolution of its test applications into a new operational framework while preserving existing Ixia test platform support and API compatibility. The company says this development strategy allows a seamless migration for existing customers while offering key benefits including: L2-7 test coverage with support for a broad range of technologies with very detailed control over various protocols options; an integrated triple play test application for IPTV testing, VoIP testing, and data testing from a single GUI; an extensive library of pre-built tests across a wide range of technologies; a wealth of reports and statistics for easy result interpretation and test analysis; and superior automation with deep API support universal automation with flexibility
Going forward in 2006, the company says the Aptixia series' test functionality will expand to include further integration of L2-3 and L4-7 testing, and additional advances in IPTV, VoIP, and security testing, while continuing to take advantage of advancements in the Optixia platform.
