MARCH 25, 2010 -- Optametra, a supplier of coherent lightwave signal analyzers, has added new analysis capabilities to its line of software solutions. These include the ability to characterize signal distortions, fiber propagation impairments, and laser phase noise.

Optametra has added laser-linewidth tolerant 16, 32, and 64 QAM demodulation formats, along with the ability to execute QAM easily in customer-defined subsets, and offset QPSK formats.

At OFC/NFOEC 2010, Optametra is showing a live demonstration of these added analysis capabilities.

“Together with our ability to run with the fastest real-time scopes, our new analysis capabilities enable our customers to develop coherent transmission systems in the realm beyond 100 G,” says Daniel van der Weide, vice president of Optametra.
