NOVEMBER 6, 2007 -- Sunrise Telecom Inc. (search for Sunrise Telecom) has introduced the SunSet MTT-30Z Fibre Channel Module, which Sunrise claims is the first handheld test set to support 1-, 2-, and 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel testing with full port login of switch fabric. This new test set is designed for service providers provisioning or diagnosing high-performance SANs in Fibre Channel, ESCON, and FICON environments.
"Continuous deployment of 4-, 8-, and 10-Gigabit Fibre Channel devices and increased customer expectations drive the demand for Fibre Channel testing and analysis equipment. Not only does the MTT-30Z handheld test set fill a need for Fibre Channel services, but it also clearly demonstrates Sunrise Telecom's commitment to bringing new technologies and leading-edge test systems to market," said Olga Yashkova, industry analyst, communication test & measurement, Frost & Sullivan.
The MTT-30Z offers a suite of tests that enable it to validate the transport FTTx backbone used to supply SAN services. The compact field unit provides traffic generation and measurements to help verify end-to-end transport of Fibre Channel, ESCON, and FICON and to determine throughput and link initialization.
The unit's F_Port, N_Port and E_Port login with optimal buffer-to-buffer credit management enables technicians to perform Fibre Channel port login of switch fabric and manages buffer-to-buffer credits for tracking the compliance of service-level agreements. In addition, BER test, roundtrip delay, bandwidth sweep, and RFC-2544-like automatic testing ensures quick and accurate measurement and diagnosis of SAN service performance and quality, according to the company.
The MTT-30Z is available for immediate delivery.
