Yelo receives orders for 100G laser diode burn-in system

Yelo, the UK-based manufacturer of automated test equipment, says it has received $2.5 million in orders for its laser diode burn-in system. The systems will support production of components for the 100G data center market, Yelo says.

Yelo, the UK-based manufacturer of automated test equipment for the photonics and electronics industries, says it has received $2.5 million in orders for its laser diode burn-in system. The systems will support production of components for the 100G data center market, Yelo says.

"These orders show that the number of optical components being used in the 100G data center market is rapidly growing and that companies are now beginning to implement automated burn-in of their optical components at high volume," explained Dylan J. Burke, Yelo's technical marketing manager.

Burke asserts that automating the burn-in process can save manufacturers millions of dollars by accelerating time to market and improving the efficiency of their production lines. Engineering resources therefore can be deployed elsewhere.
