New-Zealand-based test and measurement specialist Southern Photonics has announced a partnership with I-Wave Corp. in Japan.

I-Wave, an importer and exporter of ultra high-speed optical transmission and access products in Japan, is an important partner for Southern Photonics as the company continues to expand out of New Zealand into the international photonics market.

Working with I-Wave will also enable Southern Photonics to provide local channels for sales and support to the Japanese market.

Andy Stevens, COO of Southern Photonics said, “We are really excited to be announcing this new partnership as we understand how important it is to develop relationships in growing markets in the current climate. I-Wave’s customer base fits perfectly with our product portfolio and will enable us to create a strong presence and provide our products to new customers in the Asian market.”

I-Wave will be offering Southern Photonics’ flagship product, the equivalent-time based optical modulation analyzer (OMA) IQScope, to its customer base (see “Southern Photonics launches optical modulation analyzer based on equivalent-time oscilloscopes”).
