Liquid crystal-based WaveWalker is an N-1 × 2 multimodule optical switch for dual ring protection, add/drop network reconfiguration, and field test equipment multiplexing. It offers 1 × 1 to 8 × 8 switching with insertion loss of 1.0 to 1.5 dB, crosstalk of 40 dB, and switching speed of 2 to 5 ms.
