April 25, 2005 Richardson, TX -- Fujitsu Network Communications today announced the interoperability of Ai Metrix's NeuralStar network management platform with Fujitsu's Flashwave 4500 multi-service provisioning and switching platform (MSPP/MSSP) and Netsmart1500 Element Management System (EMS).

According to a press release, the NeuralStar platform provides dynamic management for complex, converged networks incorporating data, voice, video, voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), multi-protocol label switching (MPLS), and other technologies. According to the release, the platform has been deployed in critical U.S. defense networks, including the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Integrated Network Management System (INMS), and the Joint Task Force (JTF) Joint Network Management System (JNMS).

Fujitsu says its carrier-class Flashwave 4500 platform supports the creation of next-generation optical transport networks that offer greatly enhanced network efficiency and provide a wide variety of innovative services, while delivering capital and expense savings. The company says its Netsmart1500 EMS supports north-bound interfaces to the NeuralStar platform for complete end-to-end management of SONET networks of all sizes.

"This interoperability certification couples the complete maintenance and provisioning capability of the Netsmart 1500 EMS with the dynamic visibility and control capability of NeuralStar," contends Bill Erickson, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Fujitsu Network Communications. "The U.S. government depends on our Flashwave optical networking solutions. Through successful interoperability with NeuralStar, network professionals can quickly deploy Flashwave 4500 systems, and easily manage converged U.S. federal networks."

Fujitsu's Flashwave and Netsmart products are available through GSA contract # GS-35F-0414K on the 70IT (Information Technology) schedule. The Ai Metrix NeuralStar platform is available through GSA contract # GS 35F 0309N.
