Mainframe otdr

The mts 5200 Media Test Set is a mainframe optical time-domain reflectometer that suits end-users whose fiber-testing needs exceed the capabilities of mini-otdrs, but who desire portability not typically associated with a traditional mainframe. This media test set weighs 5.5 kg and is housed in a rugged package that is about the size of a laptop. The device accepts up to two field-interchangeable optical modules, enabling network installers and maintainers to test any type of fiber. Thirteen plug-in modules are available, any one of which can include a 625-nm visual-fault-locator option for tracing faults in patch cords inside the otdr deadzone. Three optical-test-set options combine laser source, 800- to 1650-nm power meter, and talk set functions for optical budget and end-to-end loss tests.
