Sunrise Telecom Incorporated (Nasdaq:SRTI), a provider of service verification equipment for telecommunications and Internet networks, introduces the SunSet 10G, marking what the company claims is the first true handheld 10 Gbps test set for installation and maintenance of high speed optical networks. This test set gives network operators and installers a lower cost test solution that can easily be taken anywhere in the network.

The SunSet 10G will be available for demonstration to a select audience of interested customers during SuperComm in Atlanta, June 3-7. The product is scheduled for field trials during Q3 with shipments beginning in Q4, 2001.

The SunSet 10G addresses the growing deployment of DWDM and other high speed optical transmission systems at every increasing bit rates. The test set conforms to both North American (SONET) and International (SDH) standards for optical transmission.

The SunSet 10G joins the SunSet OCx and SunSet SDH product families to offer service providers and equipment manufacturers unparalleled versatility and test choices from DS0 to OC-192 / STM-64. These advanced products are designed for testing applications throughout the network, from the core network to the access network. A color screen and logical operator interface structure mean that these products are easy to use and require a minimum of training.
