Senko Advanced Components has introduced the Smart Probe, an ergonomically designed, compact device that allows technicians to inspect the fiber end faces, capture digital images, and stream them wirelessly to the monitor of any Windows laptop, Android tablet, or smartphone.

The device features an integrated Wi-Fi module for completely wireless operation.

The compact probe offers left/right handed thumb or finger operation for greater ease of use and convenience. Incorporating a high-resolution sensor, the device outputs 960x544 pixel resolution images at 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. This provides 328X magnification on a 7-inch tablet screen.

The 457x259-µm field-of-view is large enough to view multiple MT/MPO fibers rather than just a single fiber, according to Senko.

The device comes with an app, available from Google Play, that includes digital zoom and still capture capabilities.
