Marvell: Marvell Atlas™ 50-Gbps PAM4

Feb. 6, 2022
Marvell’s Atlas is the first PAM4 DSP to integrate transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) and laser drivers in mainstream CMOS technology.
Marvell’s Atlas is the first PAM4 DSP to integrate transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) and laser drivers in mainstream CMOS technology. Atlas is able to lower power consumption and accelerate supply chain processes. The platform is also the industry’s first PAM4 DSP available to wire bond directly with lasers and photodiodes. The Atlas PAM4 DSP is designed to support multimode and single-mode optical interconnects covering distances from <100 m up to 40 km,while keeping an extremely low power profile.

Judge’s Comment: “The combo of TIA, driver,d and direct wire bonding is a step forward, while also not a one-size-fits-all solution.”
