Fiber-optic network design and commissioning services company LightRiver Technologies, Inc. has become a Viavi Velocity Partner to work with test, measurement, and monitoring technology provider Viavi Solutions (NASDAQ: VIAV) to better serve joint customers.

The partnership, the companies say, will help integrate LightRiver's "Factory Built Network" portfolio of turn-key processes for deploying complex telecommunications transport networks (see, for example, "Wilcon taps LightRiver, Ciena for Metro Ethernet expansion") with Viavi's service assurance capabilities. The combination will help network operators enhance their network infrastructure and consistently deliver high-quality experience by using network data to enhance service offerings, increase profitability, and build differentiation, the two partners assert.

"LightRiver and Viavi are dedicated to offering fully integrated solutions to support our clients' network builds, turn-up, monitoring, optimization, service-assurance and revenue diversification strategies," comments Mark Bateman, director of channel sales, Network and Service Enablement for Viavi Solutions. "LightRiver's commitment to next-generation technology and carrier-grade philosophy is a perfect fit for Viavi's advanced offerings. We are also incredibly excited to have LightRiver as part of our Velocity Partner Plan. LightRiver has a long-standing relationship with our company, and it is important to us that we continue to expand this partnership."

The partnership in particular will focus on utility markets, wireline operators, and Internet content providers.

"We chose to partner with Viavi because the company boasts a vendor-agnostic, interoperable portfolio of cloud-enabled instruments and systems, software automation, and services, and helps ensure the delivery of end-to-end visibility, intelligence, and insight for our clients," says Mike Jonas, president of global sales and marketing for LightRiver. "This creates the environment required to successfully manage the network, applications, and services with the precision that LightRiver and its customers also demand. We are proud to offer Viavi's exemplary portfolio as part of our solution, and look forward to extending our offerings of complete support."
