Cox Business strengthens cloud services hand with RapidScale acquisition

Cox Business, the commercial division of Cox Communications, says it will boost its managed services and connected cloud offerings through the acquisition of RapidScale, a provider of managed and hybrid managed cloud services provider. Cox Business plans to offer an enhanced connect cloud platform by combining its transport and connectivity capabilities with RapidScale's managed and hybrid managed cloud offerings. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cox says it already derives more than $2 billion in annual revenue from its business services operations. The acquisition is the latest in a line of deals and new service roll outs, including Blueprint RF, Unite Private Networks, Trapollo, Hospitality Network and Cox Business Security Solutions.
