Emtelle has unveiled the Emtelle HomeConnect preconnectorized fiber cabling system designed to meet both internal and external fiber to the premises (FTTP) drop cable requirements. Use of the system provides both installation and time and cost savings, the company asserts.

Emtelle HomeConnect, which leverages Emtelle’s blown fiber system expertise, leverages a small, flexible fiber cable available in lengths of 5, 20, 30, and 50 m as well as a variety of external colors. The fiber cable features a 3-mm Low Fire Hazard (LFH) sheath for internal use that is covered by a slidable and adjustable 5-mm PE sheath for external use. The fiber-optic cable comes preconnectorized with either an LC or SC connector at the customer site end.

In the field, installers deploy the cable at the internal customer connection point (CCP) where the connectorized end is plugged into, from which the polyethylene outer sheath is adjusted to expose enough LFH tube to route internally to the customer lead in point. The cable is then pushed through the lead-in point to the outside of the building, where the sheath changes over from LFH to polyethylene. The external customer lead-in kit at the building completes the Emtelle HomeConnect installation, with capping, cable guard, a wall plate or the customer connection enclosure (CCE) protecting the cable through its transition from internal to external use.

Emtelle will display Emtelle HomeConnect at Booth G14 at FTTH Conference 2019 in Amsterdam, from March 13 to March 14.
