Bluepeak taps Alianza to migrate its voice network to the cloud

July 31, 2023
Fiber broadband provider’s adoption of cloud-based solutions enables it to achieve network and operational simplification, customer experience improvement, and product line expansion.

Bluepeak, a fiber-centric broadband provider, has chosen Alianza’s cloud communications platform to consolidate and migrate away from a mix of time-division multiplexing (TDM) switches, telco softswitches, and legacy-hosted solutions.

By shifting to Alianza's cloud-native platform, Bluepeak can streamline voice offerings while expanding its solution suite with net-new offerings that include communications services like Business Cloud Communications and Business Text Messaging, as well as traditional offerings like Business Lines and SIP Trunking.

Being able to scale is a vital part of this deployment. Bluepeak will leverage the Alianza platform to bring cloud-native voice and cutting-edge communication services to over 70,000 customers, including consumers and small and medium-sized businesses in South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Wyoming.

By selecting Alianza’s cloud communications platform, Bluepeak realizes numerous benefits:

·      Speed to Market: Using Alianza’s adaptable cloud-native platform, Bluepeak can immediately introduce in-demand communications services to the market and readily adapt to market shifts and service improvements.

·       Operational Simplification: Alianza's solution frees up Bluepeak’s operations staff to concentrate on providing a first-rate experience for end users by reducing the burden of managing traditional phone equipment, feature server upgrades, and other legacy voice network difficulties.

·       SaaS Model: Alianza's cloud communications platform offers the customer a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, eliminating the need for costly capital investments in voice networking infrastructure. With a flexible licensing approach, the customer benefits from the lowest total operational cost while maintaining scalability and reliability.

Aimee Doane, VP of Network Operations for Bluepeak, said that the Alianza platform enables it to simplify how it delivers voice services. “Our operations have been transformed by consolidating various legacy technologies into a single full-stack cloud communications platform. Alianza simplifies operations, allowing us to supply modern communication services to our consumers quickly and easily,” she said. “The added advantage of service automation streamlines processes, empowering us to scale efficiently while introducing new products to our customers.”

Alianza itself has been continually making progress with providers. As the company has continued to rack up wins with customers like Bluepeak and Brightspeed, it is also enhancing its portfolio. After increasing engineering and development spending by 44% in 2022, Alianza is committing more than $200 million for additional investments in research and development over the next five years.

These investments will bring various benefits to its service provider partners. It will enable new and improved end-user communications products, features, and functionality. Additionally, Alianza’s customers will back-office digital transformation, including improved service management, automation, portals, workflows, and APIs to improve customer experiences, reduce operating complexity, and eliminate costs from service providers’ operations.
