Self-described 100-percent fiber to the premises (FTTP) internet provider GoNetspeed this week announced that its internet service is officially available to homes and businesses throughout the City of Bangor, Maine.
Through GoNetspeed’s $5 million investment in Bangor, many residents and businesses may now opt for high-speed, symmetrical upload and download internet speeds and voice services connected directly to their home or business. As construction continues and nears completion, more than 8,000 locations throughout Bangor will have access to GoNetspeed’s fiber internet service.
GoNetspeed notes it is continuing to ensure that more communities throughout Maine have access to its high-speed 100 percent fiber internet infrastructure. Currently, municipalities including Biddeford, Brewer, Brunswick, Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Falmouth, Gorham, Gray, New Gloucester, Old Orchard Beach, Old Town Orono, Saco, Scarborough, Topsham, Westbrook, Windham, and Yarmouth have access to GoNetspeed’s service, along with many other communities throughout the state that are on their way to having access to GoNetspeed’s fiber network.
GoNetspeed CEO Richard Clark commented:
“High-speed fiber internet has made it to Bangor, and we are thrilled to welcome Bangor to be a part of our GoNetspeed family as we work to ensure that more communities have access to 100 percent fiber internet that can support our modern lives and homes. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring our future-proof fiber internet to Bangor with the first customers officially having access to service. We look forward to seeing the impact of our internet on their community.”
