TDS Telecom expanding fiber broadband network to Sheboygan County, Wis.

Oct. 10, 2022
When construction is complete, more than 25,000 locations in Sheboygan County will have access to TDS’ network, including the communities of Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls, Plymouth, and Kohler.

TDS Telecommunications LLC has announced plans to bring its all-fiber internet network to Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, continuing to grow the operator's presence in the state, and bringing faster internet speeds to more homes and businesses.

When work is complete, more than 25,000 locations in Sheboygan County will have access to TDS’ network, including the communities of Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls, Plymouth, and Kohler. Construction is expected to begin this month.

The TDS network will deliver up to 2Gig internet download and upload speeds. In addition, residents will have a new choice for TV service and phone options.

TDS’ TV product, TDS TV+, offers local and national networks, integration with popular streaming services, the ability to start shows over, and cloud DVR capability. Phone packages and service bundles will be available.

In addition, 10Gig dedicated connections will be available for businesses, as well as TDS’ hosted VoIP communications solution, and TDS TV+.

The projects in Sheboygan County represents just the latest step in TDS’ Wisconsin expansion. Founded in 1969 in Madison, TDS notes it is building fiber networks in virtually every corner of the state, with the recent announcement of projects in 18 communities across Wisconsin.

Drew Petersen, TDS SVP of corporate affairs, commented:

“TDS is thrilled to expand our network in Sheboygan County. With this project, we will bring better connections to residents, schools, public safety agencies, and many others. As a longtime Wisconsin company, we are excited to serve more communities in our home state. As we have seen during the pandemic, fast and reliable internet is a crucial part of a community’s infrastructure and quality of life. We look forward to helping Sheboygan County grow and thrive for years to come.”
