Midcontinent Communications plans to begin construction throughout Fargo, ND, next spring and to connect its first customers there next fall. Midcontinent currently provides services to Moorhead, MN, and West Fargo, ND, along with some businesses in Fargo.The Fargo buildout will connect with Midcontinent's fiber-optic Northern Plains Network and will be a combination of fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) and fiber-deep technologies designed to provide customers with data speeds ranging from 5 Mbps to 10 Gbps.Pending regulatory approval, the company is scheduled to start construction as soon as the ground thaws in the spring of 2014.
