The 5170 is a 100/10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) 1RU ("pizza box") carrier-class Ethernet switch. Equipped with integrated line-rate service activation testing, additional outlays for expensive test sets can be avoided, saving cable operators both time and money. Purpose-built to provide seamless MEF-compliant services over a carrier-class, connection-oriented infrastructure, the 5170 enables 100GbE service delivery or 10GbE service aggregation in an energy- and footprint-efficient form factor.
