Atlantic Broadband has increased its Internet speeds and expanded its TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO) deployments in a number of markets, including parts of Delaware, Maryland and South Carolina.

The company has launched three new Internet packages in Middletown, DE, and surrounding communities, including Delaware City, New Castle, Odessa, Port Penn, St. Georges, Townsend and Clayton. The new speed tiers there include 50 Mbps, 100 Mbps and 250 Mbps.

Atlantic Broadband has launched those same packages in Grasonville and Perryville, MD, including the surrounding communities of Chestertown, Centreville, Queenstown, Rock Hall, Church Hill, St. Michaels and Chesapeake City. After the upgrades, Atlantic Broadband's fastest Internet speed in those markets has more than doubled.

"We know how critical superfast Internet is to our customers who rely on our Internet services every day to power multiple devices in their homes," said Scott Randall, Atlantic Broadband's vice president and general manager, Maryland/Delaware. "We are pleased to make this major speed enhancement available to the communities we serve in the region."

Earlier this summer, the company launched DOCSIS 3.1-based gigabit Internet service in New Hampshire and Maine, and also upgraded Internet speeds in several other markets, including Miami Beach; Aiken, SC; and southern Connecticut.

Atlantic Boradband's TiVo deployment, first announced in July, has been expanded to parts of South Carolina, Maryland and Delaware. The South Carolina markets include Aiken, Graniteville, Jackson, New Ellenton and Warrenville. Maryland markets include Grasonville, Perryville, Chestertown, Centreville, Queenstown, Rock Hall, Church Hill, St. Michaels and Chesapeake City. Delaware markets include Middletown, Delaware City, New Castle, Odessa, Port Penn, St. Georges, Townsend and Clayton. Northern Pennsylvania markets include Warren, Bradford, Clearfield, Shippenville and Salamanca, NY, and the towns’ surrounding areas. Florida markets include Miami Beach, Aventura, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Golden Beach, North Bay Village, Pinecrest, South Miami, Sunny Isles Beach, Surfside, plus Brickell, the Biscayne corridor and downtown Miami.

In those markets, Atlantic Broadband has launched TiVo's Unified Entertainment System, which features a revamped on-screen user interface (UI) designed to support personalized, programming recommendations and a voice remote.

Content is searchable across multiple sources, including live TV, DVR recordings, VOD and streaming apps, including Netflix, You Tube, HBO GO and MLB.TV. The upgrade also allows customers to access content on multiple screens, both at home and on the go.

"We are excited to share this new TiVo upgrade with our South Carolina customers," said Debbie Eblen, Atlantic Broadband Vice President and General Manager, South Carolina. "This upgrade, including the new voice remote, makes it easier than ever for customers to find what they want to watch, quickly and accurately. This news brings next-level personalization and convenience that customers will enjoy."

In conjunction with the TiVo launch, Atlantic Broadband has introduced new VOD technology designed to increase the number of on-demand choices available, while delivering the content to customers on the viewing device of their choice.
