WOW! (NYSE:WOW) says its WOW! 1 Gig gigabit Internet service is now available to more than 95% of the company's customers and network footprint.

WOW! has completed its rollout of the DOCSIS 3.1-based service to the entirety of Columbus, GA, and large portions of Huntsville and Montgomery, AL, finalizing the proposed rollout announced last November. In January, the company deployed the service in parts of Florida, Illinois, Ohio, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Michigan. The service is available to residential and business customers and has no data caps.

"Almost every household and business is connecting more devices and using more data today than they did even one year ago," said Teresa Elder, CEO of WOW!. "As Internet-connected devices and appliances continue to proliferate, our 1 Gig Internet service allows customers to browse, stream, game and conduct business at the fastest speeds available."

Existing WOW! customers in coax-based markets will need only a new modem to upgrade to the gigabit service.
