Cable ONE (NYSE:CABO) is launching its GigaOne gigabit Internet service in Bartlesville, OK. The company also recently launched the DOCSIS 3.0-based 1 Gbps service in Ponca City, OK, as well as Roswell, NM, and Biloxi and Gulfport, MS.
Cable ONE first announced plans to launch gigabit in 200+ markets last November, and the company says the service is now available in the majority of its markets. To date, the service has been deployed in parts of Alabama, Idaho, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Mississippi.
Cable ONE says it has invested more than $500 million over the past five years on network upgrades and enhancements.
"Cable ONE will be the first provider in the majority of our markets to offer Gigabit speeds to residential customers," said Joe Felbab, vice president of marketing for Cable ONE. "Unlike many of our competitors, gigabit service will be available to all of our customers - not just a select few in certain areas. We've been committed for decades to serving smaller cities and towns, and we are delighted to provide them with the latest technology to make them gigabit cities in 2017."
