AT&T (NYSE:T) is expanding the availability of its fiber-based gigabit Internet service in the Greensboro, NC, area, including parts of Burlington and other parts of Alamance County. AT&T Internet 1000 is now available in multifamily properties like Watercourse Apartments and master planned communities like Laurelton Village.
The telco first launched gigabit in the area in mid-2015 and plans to expand further in parts of High Point in the future. Greensboro is one of 44 metro areas where AT&T gigabit service is currently available. The company plans to reach at least 67 metro areas with the service.
"Our customers are increasingly interacting with their world in more data-intensive ways," said Venessa Harrison, president, AT&T North Carolina. "A growing number of people are streaming content directly from their devices, and interacting with family and friends through live videos. For these reasons, we're continuing to expand the availability of our fastest Internet speeds to more Greensboro area communities."
Internet-only pricing for gigabit starts at $70 a month, and bundles including video and voice are available.
