Standalone pricing for gigabit Internet service, AT&T Internet 1000, starts at $80 a month with a 12-month contract. After 12 months, the price moves up to $119 a month. Double and triple play bundles with video and voice services are available as well.

"We are excited to add Columbia to the growing list of areas in South Carolina where our 100% fiber network is bringing customers our fastest Internet speeds available" said Marvy Moore, vice president and general manager of AT&T for Georgia and South Carolina. "At AT&T, we are committed to innovation and offering cutting-edge technologies to create the best entertainment and communications experiences in the world."

Yesterday the service went live in parts of Milwaukee, and AT&T plans to have it up and running in 51 metro areas by the end of the month. Further plans include reaching at least 67 metro areas and 12.5 million locations by mid-2019.
