Precision Optical Technologies announces general launch of its OpenPath passive optical network access solution
Optical system engineering and integration company Precision Optical Technologies announced on Feb. 6 that its OpenPath™ solution is now available. The company describes OpenPath as a turnkey solution that enables customers to deploy and manage 10 Gigabit symmetrical passive optical networks (XGS-PON) flexibly and efficiently.
Precision Optimal Technologies’ VP of strategic products, Harj Ghuman, said in a press release, “OpenPath is the future-proof solution that will help our customers bridge digital divides in a way that ensures optimal performance and interoperability with any existing infrastructure and software systems they have.”
According to Precision Optical Technologies, OpenPath simplifies and speeds up PON deployments by mitigating the challenges and roadblocks faced by Multiple System Operators (MSOs), service providers, and access network operators while also providing a platform to evolve networks alongside future PON technologies.
OpenPath users can converge residential, commercial, and wireless services all over a single infrastructure and are able to reuse existing ODN/passive resources.
