NCTC approves ADTRAN for PON, smart home technology supply

ADTRAN Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN) says it has reached a new agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative, Inc. (NCTC) that will streamline member-companies’ access to such ADTRAN offerings as the Total Access 5000 (TA5000) fiber access platform, 10G PON and 10G EPON technology, Mosaic Subscriber Suite, and smart home products. The agreement also covers access to professional and support services.

The agreement additionally will see ADTRAN make available what it calls “specialized offerings” for network design, deployment, test, management, and upgrade their networks. These offerings include access to network evaluation and audit services, resident engineer support services, and Virtual CTO services. ADTRAN says that more than 200 NCTC members are already using technology covered in the agreement. These members include Comporium, Consolidated Communications, Lumos, Vast Broadband, and Vexus Fiber.
