Ting lights 2 Gbps fiber internet in Colorado Springs

Aug. 15, 2023
As the initial anchor tenant on Colorado Springs Utilities network, Ting lights its largest market.

Ting Internet now offers 2 Gbps fiber internet service in Colorado Springs neighborhoods—the most significant market it operates in today. The service deployment is made possible by being the first anchor tenant on Colorado Springs Utilities’ city-wide fiber network.

Colorado is hardly new to Ting Internet. The service provider already provides service to residents and businesses across Centennial and the Western Slope. Customers in Colorado Springs can now sign up for Ting's symmetrical 2 Gbps fiber internet service for $89 per month.

"At Ting, the internet is a crucial part of our day-to-day lives—it has become a utility like water or electricity. While other internet service providers may throttle the network to different levels as a pricing strategy, we don't do that. If our network can support 2-gigabits, that's what we're giving our customers at one fair price," said Deb Walker, community engagement and public affairs manager for Ting.

Ting became the initial anchor tenant on a city-wide fiber network owned by Colorado Springs Utilities in early 2022. Serving one of Colorado's most populous cities, the municipal utility has been building next-generation fiber infrastructure that will support its electric operations and serve as a platform for other competitive providers that want to offer fiber broadband service. Upon completion, the new fiber network will serve over 200,000 addresses across the entire community.

Ting's fiber internet service is currently available in northeast neighborhoods and steadily expands across Colorado Springs, with full municipal access expected by the end of 2028.

Residents in Colorado Springs can visit ting.com/coloradosprings to see service availability and search their address to either order or pre-order service. Ting will offer customizable plans for businesses and enterprises. Its enterprise team can also create and make bulk services available.

Any Colorado Springs customer who pre-orders Ting Internet can also get unlimited Ting Mobile for $10 per month per line, an offer available to all Ting Internet customers.
