TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO) has notched up customer wins with Service Electric Cable TV and with satellite video operator DISH.
Service Electric
Service Electric Cable TV, which serves more than 125,000 subscribers in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey, plans to deploy the latest TiVo Gateway DVR solution.
"TiVo's next generation solution offers an advanced, graphically rich and personalized user experience that our customers will love and enjoy both at home and on the go," said John M. Walson, president, Service Electric Cable TV. "Service Electric remains committed to the advancement of innovation, and we're thrilled to be bringing our customers the very best in entertainment."
TiVo's multiscreen solution incorporates personalized recommendations and integration with over-the-top (OTT) content, including Netflix, YouTube and additional apps to let viewers search across pay TV, VOD and OTT from a single screen. Additionally, Service Electric customers will be able to take their DVR recordings on-the-go via smartphone or tablet.
The solution features multi-room, multiscreen and connected experience capabilities that use the ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) gateway box, TiVo Mini, and TiVo iOS and Android apps for smartphones and tablets.
DISH
DISH has completed its migration to TiVo Metadata, including program information and image-based content, across its product platforms, including linear TV, VOD and DVR. TiVo completed the metadata migration process in just under five months, the companies said.
"Today's consumers want a visually-rich entertainment experience that makes it easy for them to quickly identify and access the content they want in real time," said Niraj Desai, vice president of product management, DISH. "Through our long-standing collaboration with TiVo, we were able to integrate their enhanced metadata offerings and provide a cohesive and seamless entertainment experience across our product platforms."
