ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) says its Qi3 HD set-top, with support for video decryption protocols, has achieved both CAL and iTASS certification.

The Qi3 set-top is a multi-purpose set-top designed to operate as a stand-alone HD set-top or as a multiroom DVR client in a video gateway system. It can also support both traditional QAM video and OTT and IP content. ARRIS has worked with TiVo to integrate the TiVo service into the Qi3 set-top.

"The CAL and iTASS certifications enable ARRIS to bring the Qi3 - and the next era of integrated video services it promises - to a broad range of service providers," said Larry Robinson, ARRIS president of customer premises equipment. "This platform will offer a crucial time advantage to service providers who count on ARRIS's expertise and scale to deliver the latest video services and most popular user experiences to their subscribers."
