TDS Telecom (NYSE:TDS) has chosen TiVo's (NASDAQ:TIVO) Next-Gen Platform IP video solution for Android TV, streaming video and mobile applications. TDS plans to roll out the TiVo solution to both new and existing TV subscribers in both cable operations and wireline service areas.
TiVo's cloud-based solution is designed to deliver personalization, search and recommendations, voice control, and content discovery across linear, over-the-top (OTT), on-demand and cloud DVR platforms with multiscreen capabilities.

TDS's video solution will include a suite of IPTV solutions, including IPVOD, IP linear, start-over/catchup and network DVR. Nokia is providing the end-to-end content delivery solution, including its Velocix Media Delivery Platform and Origin Server.

TDS has acquired a number of cable operators in recent years, including BendBroadband and Crestview Cable Communications.
