April 9, 2002--Stockholders of Iamba Technologies Inc. approved the proposal to change the name of the company to Iamba Networks Inc. (www.iamba.com), effective immediately. The replacement of "technologies" with "networks" represents Iamba's focus on networking solutions, and specifically multi-service optical access solutions, with its iAxelent platform.
"The name 'iamba' has originated many creative speculations regarding the company's domain," reports Guy Benhaim, CEO of Iamba Networks Inc., "the most appealing being 'I AM Broadband Access'. The company's revised name signifies our commitment to lead the next-generation optical access evolution with the iAxelent platform." According to Benhaim, the new name will enable Iamba to better leverage the awareness for the Iamba brand.
The company's flagship product, iAxelent, is a multi-service optical access system enabling carriers and service providers to deliver optimally packaged data, voice, and video services with SLA and guaranteed QoS for business, residential and feeder applications (FTTB, FTTH, FTTC, and FTTN). The system comprises a uniform CO/POP Concentrator with a family of Optical Network Terminators.
