7 August 2003 Germantown, MD Lightwave -- Optelecom Inc. has entered into a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract with a Fortune 100 global entertainment and media customer for the supply of fiber-optic transmission equipment. The value of the contract is projected to be more than $2 million when all phases are completed, with deliveries expected to commence in the third quarter of 2003.
The contract calls for the installation of the company's products in the fiber-optic systems of the customer and will be used in security applications at facilities in both the United States and other properties worldwide.

The enterprise customer has selected Optelecom's recently released CWDM SpectraStream 128 product, which enables the transmission and optical add/drop of many broadcast-quality, uncompressed video channels using only one fiber.
