BrightLink Networks closes $35.8 million funding round

June 21, 2001--BrightLink Networks Inc., a supplier of optical switching systems for the telecommunications industry, announced it has secured an additional $35.8 million in funding.

BrightLink Networks Inc., a supplier of optical switching systems for the telecommunications industry, announced it has secured an additional $35.8 million in funding. Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet, an existing investor, led the round. Proceeds from the round will be used to fund additional customer trials for the BOSS 1000 optical switching system and to move into revenue shipments.

Other participants contributing to this round include Draper Fisher Jurvetson, The Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Menlo Ventures, Mitsui & Co. (USA), The Sprout Group, and Vision Capital bringing BrightLink's total private investment to more than $113 million.
