TranSwitch Corporation joins with TeraOp (USA) Inc. for high-speed optical switching devices

TranSwitch Corporation (NASDAQ:TXCC), a developer and global supplier of innovative high-speed VLSI solutions for communications applications, announced it has entered into a strategic investment and OEM agreement with TeraOp (USA) Inc., a privately-held Delaware company with an R&D center based in Israel. TeraOp is developing a family of optical switching and routing products for the optical networking infrastructure.

"TeraOp's innovative optical switching and routing solutions are based on patent pending solid-state/MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) and micro-optics technologies. These new solutions will allow OEMs to design and build a variety of optical switching and routing architectures to support both current and next generation Terabit optical networking systems," stated Avigdor Huber, TeraOp's President.
