Metro-Optix announces value-added reseller agreement with International FiberCom
Metro-Optix announced a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with International Fibercom Inc. (Nasdaq: IFCI). The formal relationship also includes third party and interoperability testing and several systems are currently being shipped to International Fibercom. Under the terms of the agreement, International FiberCom will resell Metro-Optix's CityStream multi-service provisioning optical platform through additional distribution channels into its customer base.
The CityStream system supports all data, voice, and video traffic over optical networks, with a non-blocking, scaleable core switching fabrics for TDM, ATM and IP traffic. As a single network element optimized for demanding metropolitan applications, CityStream improves bandwidth efficiency while delivering data and Internet services.
Among CityStream's applications are ring aggregation, mesh topology, point-of-presence bandwidth management, service access multiplexing, DSLAM aggregation, ATM edge switching, and IP routing.
Metro-Optix introduced the CityStream optical access system last year. It improves by up to five-fold the performance of high-speed optical networks used to carry voice, data, video and other traffic, thanks to its combination, in a single platform, of DWDM, ATM, IP, and SONET interworking, as well as its centralized management, rapid provisioning, and reduced complexity.
