World Wide Packets, a solutions provider for optical broadband connectivity, is expanding. Nearly one third of its Spokane staff is being relocated from the 115 North Sullivan Road headquarters building into the newly completed Liberty Lake Internet Portal facility at 23403 E. Mission in Liberty Lake. The move is precipitated by unprecedented staff growth in 2000.

The Company's Sales, Global Service & Support, System Quality Assurance (SQA) and supporting administrative functions are moving into 24,600 square feet of new space on three floors in the Liberty Lake Internet Portal building. In addition to offices, the new facility will house a sales lab with working demonstrations of the company's broadband access solutions, and a customer call center which will be staffed 24 hours/day, seven days/week.

The Sullivan facility will house Engineering, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems and Marketing, as well as a research and development lab, and a convergence demonstration facility showcasing the entire LightningEdge product line interoperating with partner voice, video and data products. The head-end or service-provider lab at this site feeds demo rooms at both the Sullivan Road and Liberty Lake locations.

World Wide Packets plans to utilize its new broadband access technology in the two Spokane locations. Ethernet over fiber will deliver converged voice, video and data internally at the Liberty Lake site, which will then be connected via fiber to the Sullivan site. IP telephony and video conferencing are just two of the features that will be utilized at both locations. World Wide Packets also has expanded its Portland, Ore. engineering facility to include Embedded Software development as well as Network Management Software development and ASIC design.

The company move-in at Liberty Lake in Spokane is scheduled for March 1st. The move in Portland occurred February 17th.
