Israel-based systems vendor ECI Telecom has shuffled the top of its management card deck. Rafi Maor, current president and CEO, will become chairman of the board, while Shimon Bart will fill Maor’s former role.

Maor had been ECI’s President and CEO since 2005. No reason was given for the change.

Shimon joins ECI from Keter Plastic Ltd. - IPG, a manufacturer and marketer of resin-based home consumer products. However, he does have experience in high-tech electronics as founder and CEO of VLScom, a start-up company focused on video technologies. He also was CEO of the Israeli and European branch of Kinetics Systems (formerly MMD Israel Technologies Ltd.), an engineering projects company serving the micro-electronics, pharmaceutical, and process industries.

“I welcome Shimon as our new President and CEO and am confident that together, we will continue to lead ECI to future achievements,” Maor was quoted as saying in a press release. “I am certain that Shimon’s extensive managerial experience and skills will greatly contribute to our ability to achieve our business goals and lead the company towards continuous growth and outstanding accomplishments.”
