NKT Photonics to open North American subsidiary

SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 -- Fiber and components designer and manufacturer NKT Photonics A/S plans to establish a wholly owned subsidiary, NKT Photonics Inc., in the United States to serve the growing North American market.

"NKT Photonics has a large base of industrial and academic customers in the U.S. and Canada, spanning the whole product range from bare crystal fiber to SuperK white-light lasers. This expansion is to address the great demand and to offer an even better service to our valuable customers," says Chuong Tran, vice president of sales and marketing. "We have done this successfully before in central Europe by opening NKT Photonics GmbH in Germany four years ago. NKT Photonics Inc. will entirely focus on providing sales support for new customers and forthcoming public tenders in North America as well as technical support for already deployed NKT Photonics products in this geographical region," he concludes.

The offices of NKT Photonics Inc. will be located in Morganville, NJ, and are officially open as of Sept. 1, 2009, to handle all North American customers of NKT Photonics products.
