Princeton, NJ, has formed a joint venture with Potomac Capital Investment Corp., an unregulated subsidiary of Potomac Electric Power Co., to provide local and long-distance telephone, cable-TV and Internet services in the Washington, DC, area. Each party will invest up to $150 million over the next three years to provide the bundled services over a fiber-optic network. rcn has a similar arrangement with Boston Edison to provide telecommunications services to the metropolitan Boston area (see Lightwave, August 1997, page 1).
