Dallas, TX, and United and Philips Communications BV (upc), a communications systems and services joint venture between Philips Electronics NV of The Netherlands and United International Holdings Inc. of Denver, CO, have reached a "framework agreement" for the provision of communications network infrastructure in Europe. dsc will provide Synchronous Digital Hierarchy-based transmission and network management systems for installation in upc`s broadband networks. Equipment covered by the agreement includes the dsc Focus AC1 sdh transmission system, Focus AC0 multiplexer, Focus AC4 add/drop and terminal multiplexers, and Focus NM2100nm network management system.
