Time Warner Cable and US West Media Group plan to create the nation?s largest broadband online

Time Warner Cable and US West Media Group plan to create the nation?s largest broadband online business by merging the MediaOne Express and Road Runner services. Both multiple system operators employ upgraded hybrid fiber/coaxial-cable plant. The footprint of the new business area includes New York; Los Angeles, CA; Boston; Atlanta, GA; Detroit, MI; and Tampa Bay and Orlando, FL. The companies? combined total of existing online services is available to more than 3.6 million homes, and the joint venture will be capable of reaching more than 27 million homes. Additional online services are expected to reach 45,000 more U.S. and international high-speed data customers than the companies serve today.
