Champtel llc, Champlain, NY, and Mi-Tech Communications Inc., Westminster, CO, have formed a joint venture to build a fiber-optic communications system between Albany, NY, and Montreal. The venture, called Mi-Link llc, will provide conduit and fibers to other telecommunications providers and companies that require high-capacity data transmission. The system is scheduled for completion by year-end. The Champlain Telephone Co. owns Champtel, and Mi-Tech Communications is owned and operated by Michels Pipeline Construction in Brownsville, WI.
