A new UK company, Kymata Ltd. (Livingston, Scotland), has received a ٟ-million investment from 3i (London), a European venture capitalist. This first round of funding will support the manufacture of the company`s prototype integrated circuits for high-bandwidth fiber-optic communications. Kymata was established to manufacture planar silica-on-silicon optoelectronic devices to support telecommunications equipment companies in building DWDM systems.
