Jiangsu Fasten Photonics announces launch of optical fiber and optical fiber preform

March 20, 2003--Jiangyin, China-based Jiangsu Fasten Photonics Co. Ltd. announced today the development of new optical fiber and optical fiber preform products.

By using advanced technologies, Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition (MCVD) to produce fiber cores and the Outside Vapor Deposition (OVD) to form the cladding, Jiangsu Fasten Photonics claims it produces high quality optical fibers with excellent performance and strength--achieved through the fine refractive index profile and strict control of geometry.

"The company utilizes the most advanced fiber production equipment and technologies, and strictly follows the ISO9002 management and quality control standards to produce the singlemode fiber G652, explains Mr. Liang Letian, general manager of Jiangsu Fasten Photonics. "The first class fiber testing instruments and methods assure the highest technical specifications of the produced fibers, which are well within the ITU-T G652-2000 (International standard) and GB/T9771.1-2000 (National Standard)," he adds.

Jiangsu Fasten Co Ltd and Australian-based Redfern Photonics Pty Ltd, subsidiary of the Australian Photonics Cooperative Research Centre (APCRC), have assisted Jiangsu Fasten Photonics in its development, after its foundation as a joint venture company. Jiangsu Fasten Co has over 30 years of experience in large-scale industrial production and modern enterprise management, while APCRC is prominent in its production development and technology innovation.
