PowerNetix delivers high-power 980nm pump modules

Oct. 24, 2001
Oct. 24, 2001--The company's first product is designed for use in fiber amplifiers and fiber lasers in high-speed optical telecom networks.

PowerNetix, Inc. announced the availability of high-power single mode 980nm pump modules. The company's first product is designed for use in fiber amplifiers and fiber lasers in high-speed optical telecom networks. The samples shipment of the high-power, compact modules to select customers comes less than one year after PowerNetix received its initial venture funding.

"The quick product introduction from the drawing board to a testable unit underscores the skill and dedication of our team and viability of our novel and proprietary Uniline (patent pending) packaging technology," said Jay Titus, CEO, PowerNetix, Inc. "The delivery of samples to select customers is the first step in the process that will lead to a 980nm power module from PowerNetix with full Telcordia qualification in the second quarter of 2002."

The Uniline (single step align and lock) packaging technology from PowerNetix involves integration of state-of-the-art components with innovative manufacturing processes to deliver highly stable engineered product.

Uniline represents a step forward in the automated manufacturing of pump modules in that it enables high throughput and reproducibility without sacrificing performance, quality, and reliability.
