Joint build

E.W. Scripps Co.`s cable-TV division has formed a joint venture with Hyperion Telecommunications that will build and operate competitive access networks in Knoxville and Chattanooga, TN. The fiber-optic networks will carry voice, data and video. In Chattanooga, Scripps has installed 7840 kilometers of optical fiber passing 178,000 homes. The company`s Knoxville network has 6720 km of optical fiber and has passed 152,000 households.
